Senthil Sundaram is Atlatl's Director of Systematic Investments. He brings more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of quantitative finance and advanced technology, and he leads the development of the actively managed systematic investment strategies that distinguish Atlatl's approach.
Senthil earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994. While finishing his degree in the early 1990s he met Mark Fedenia, and that connection became his pathway into finance. He went on to join the generation of scientists who moved into quantitative investing on Wall Street, with tenures at several large hedge funds, most notably Two Sigma Investments, where he advanced to Chief Risk Officer overseeing a $60 billion portfolio.
After Two Sigma, Senthil moved back to Madison with his family and connected with Mark, Ross and Atlatl. That partnership became the foundation for the firm's systematic investment strategies. It is unusual for someone with his background in quantitative research and institutional risk management to work directly with private wealth clients, and it brings the research and risk discipline of a large quantitative manager to the portfolios of Atlatl's families.
